008 | The Interview
I had a lot of fun working on this page. At first, I was concerned that the colors wouldn't compliment one another, but it came out looking better than I had originally imagined it.
The question to ask this week is, "Why is there so much discussion around an interview?" Who is being interviewed? Why does he or she need to be interviewed? What will be accomplished once the interview is over?
So many questions. Be sure to stay tuned to find out the answers.
Here is a list of the 3d models (see below) that I used to create these characters, the environment and then composite the final image using Photoshop. Here is a video I did that walks through my process for using DAZ Studio in conjunction with Photoshop to create images.

I shared the post on the Black Sun Facebook page, and a lot of people responded. The article received over 400 likes and over 40 awesome suggestions making it difficult for me to choose.
I'm not complaining. It was very exciting to see so many people participate. It confirms that there is an enthusiastic audience out there who wants to support and see themselves reflected in the world of science fiction and fantasy. So a heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who shared their 2 cents.
Now to announce the winner. Even though the majority of submissions were great in the end, it came down to the names that fit most with the universe of Black Sun. In spite of it being a fictional place, Black Sun is heavily influenced by Afrikan culture. It means that the names of the characters must reflect this.
The winning name is Lumayaa. It means "Light out of the darkness." Jacen Braithwaite submitted the name and in return Jacen will receive a printed copy of a Black Sun graphic novel. Congratulations.
NOTE: I'm in the midst of finishing up the graphic novel that I just mentioned. I'll be sending it off for printing in mid-September. When my order comes back those books will be made available via this site, so please stay tuned.
I’ve gotten a lot of questions lately about how I create my comic pages. I figured it was about time that I put together a process video.

In this article, I take a look at Renderosity. It is an online retailer of 3D content for use, primarily in Poser & DAZ Studio. They also offer digital products that can be used in other 3D and 2D illustration programs as well.Read More >>
