Your story matters!
Black Sun Comics has partnered with Revitaled Reintegration Services, Durham Region & The Durham Region Health Centre to bring at-risk Black youth (ages 12-18) the opportunity to empower themselves through storytelling and comic creation.
Over the course of this 6 week program, participants will:
Learn about tools they can use to address racism and trauma, and improve their well-being.
Learn about the power of their story, and how storytelling can support healing.
Connect with other youth in an authentic and safe space.
Have access to free, on-the-spot mental health and wellness counseling if requested
Learn about other community resources that are ready to help their reach their goals
Receive a $25 per week honorarium for participation.
Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend.
To participate you must be a self-identifying BIPOC, at-risk youth between the ages of 12 - 18 living in downtown Ajax or Oshawa Ontario.
